With over 30 years of experience, we are the premier mobile dog training service on California’s Central Coast. We cater to all breeds and ages of dogs. Michael Drain, our lead dog trainer, is a retired Police Officer and K9 Trainer/Handler. He is a CA P.O.S.T. Certified K9 Team Evaluator. Michael is an award winning dog trainer and handler who has worked on numerous K9 details to include working in conjunction with the U.S. Secret Service on a Presidential security detail. He has trained service dogs as well as hundreds of beloved pets. We offer puppy classes, obedience training, problem solving and consulting services to help you maximize your relationship with your dog. We offer our services in Monterey County, South Santa Clara County and San Benito County.

Is dog training expensive?

We offer custom packages tailored to your specific budget and goals. Typically, one hour with us is more impactful than spending many hours with less experienced trainers. We offer FREE evaluations and discounted group rates. An investment now will save you countless hours of stress and will help prevent potential problems before they arise.

Do you work with older dogs?

Absolutely! It is generally best to start training as early as possible but "life happens" and sometimes this is not possible. Fortunately, there is little to no truth in the old saying, “You can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” We enjoy working with puppies and older dogs alike!

What is your training philosophy?

We believe positive motivation/reinforcement techniques are the most critical factors in effective dog training. We utilize food, high value objects (tugs/toys/balls) and lavish praise to reward desired behaviors . We use "markers," verbal commands , non verbal cues and hand signals to facilitate effective communication. We strive to minimize anthropomorphism and have become adept at interpreting "The language of the domesticated wolf." Just as all people are unique, all dogs are as well. Above all else, we have a deep love and appreciation for dogs. Our passion in training is a direct reflection of this love.
